Materials

Tools

  • Circular saw
  • Clamps
  • Router
  • Sandpaper
  • Ruler

How To

  1. Measure the width of your lounge arm with a ruler and subtract 1 cm because you want the holder to be a snug fit.
  2. Measure the height of the arm of your lounge, it should be at least 10 cm deep to be stable.
  3. Use your mitre box and hand saw to cut three pieces of timber to size. You will need to cut one edge of each piece at a 45-degree angle so that will join together in a U-shape.
  4. Lightly sand back the edges and clean them so they are free of dust.
  5. Spread Selleys Aquadhere Interior along one edge to be joined leaving a couple of centimetres free of glue at each end.
  6. Put a few drops of Selleys Quick Fix Supa Glue in the spaces you left on each end and then join the pieces together.
  7. Hold the pieces together for 60 seconds to allow the supa glue to set.
  8. Repeat the gluing process for the other edges to be joined.
  9. Clamp tightly and leave to dry for 24 hours to ensure Selleys Aquadhere Interior has fully cured.
  10. Paint or stain the arm chair rest with a clear coat to protect it.
