Selleys Fireblock PA® is a low toxic, low modulus, non-slumping, PSA composite sealant featuring UV Tracer technology and had been developed for fire and acoustic rated construction in accordance with AS1530.4-2014 up to 240 minutes in a horizontal and vertical joints of 40mm wide in construction joints and service penetrations without solvents or isocyanates.
Selleys UV tracer technology incorporated into the product's formulation, is invisible to the naked eye and is only identified by a UV torch which guarantees traceability of products in application. This unique technology offers a guaranteed source of quality and new levels of assurance, whilst acting as an incentive to ensure that products are used and applied correctly.
Usage
Prior to application of fire rated products, consult with the project fire certifier or engineer to ensure compliance with certification requirements.
Where can this product be used?
- Fireblock PA is suitable for internal and external non-trafficable control joints in concrete, masonry, brick, and plasterboard in fire rated construction. Suitable for sheltered exterior applications. Not for constantly damp areas
- It can also be used for penetrations and perimeter sealing in concrete, plasterboard, and aerated concrete. Sealing in conjunction with fire collars, pillows and dampers is also possible.

How to Use
- Cut tip of sausage. Insert in caulking gun and attach nozzle. Cut nozzle to size required for joint.
- Extrude sealant smoothly into joint, while ensuring that all substrates are well wetted out with sealant.
- For fire rating, joint width should be between 10mm and 40mm. Minimum joint depth should be 10mm or half the width for joints wider than 20mm.
- Install backing rod in joint to control sealant depth.
- Allow the sealant to form a thick skin before painting with a flexible paint. To avoid paint cracking, the sealant should be allowed to fully cure before painting with flat and/or ceiling paint.
- NOTE: The sealant cures by water evaporation therefore cure rate is dependent on humidity, ambient temperature, and joint size. Typically, the sealant will form a thick skin within 24 hours and full cure can be expected after 7 days. In humid or cool conditions, the sealant cure will be longer.
Handy Tips

Minimum joint width and depth is 10mm. For joint widths greater than 10mm, use a width to depth ratio of 2:1.

Wider joints can accommodate more total movement than narrow joints.

Always install suitable diameter backing rod (polyethylene or polyurethane foam rod) in joints to control sealant depth and ensure free movement of sealant. Open cell foam is recommended for faster curing of the sealant.

Sealant must adhere to sides of the joints only and NOT to the back, so that it is free to stretch.

To maximise durability in outdoor applications paint with a suitable exterior paint.
Clean Up
Spills and tools can be cleaned up with water before product cures. To remove cured sealant, tools will need to be soaked in water followed by mechanical action.
